Alfred’s grandfather lives in Sarasota and we have gone to visit several times. Leaving chilly, rainy Seattle and landing in a place with alligators, warm beaches and brilliant blue skies is wonderful if not a bit disorienting.

Lizards abound on walking trails just outside of Sarasota.
We had just talked about walking down this path when two alligators lunged at each other and fell into the water.
